Many highly qualified technical experts are now looking for work and starting their own consulting companies. It is a great time for business to examine their costs and see if changing vendors might introduce some cost cutting measures.
recognize the United States will have a long-term structural unemployment problem that will limit the growth of the country's GDP. Investors will need to adapt to a slower growth economy. Companies will compete for the skilled workers in short supply with higher salaries and benefits. Watch for personnel expenses to rise for companies that require higher skilled workers.
Although consultants don't come cheap, the sheer numbers of new consultants in the market place provides and opportunity for leverage. You may be able to negotiate price or services and get more for your money than you are with your present suppliers.
When you have nothing to lose, it pays to start asking the questions.
